Jamie Carragher suggests Liverpool need to do this to be in contention to win the Premier League. The Reds have made an impressive start to the season under Arne Slot and are top of the table after eight games, one point ahead of Man City.

“Liverpool need to seize the opportunity and sign two or three quality players in January if they are to win trophies,” Carragher wrote in The Telegraph.
“When comparing the starting line-ups of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City, the title contenders have better quality in some areas. Liverpool lack an attacking midfielder in the style of Martin Odegaard, Phil Foden or Kevin De Bruyne, who are key factors in midfield that would take the team to the next level.”
“Dominik Soboszlai is good without the ball and he brings energy to the team. Does the dirty work as he says, but even with the ball in good areas. He still needs to be more creative in terms of assists and goals. We have to see if that’s part of his game.”
“For £60m, I want more. It doesn’t always have to be dirty work when you have time and space in the box to find a team-mate or score a goal.”
